Fuudo Confirms Coaching Partnership With CoSa Before Capcom Cup

Fuudo Confirms Coaching Partnership

Legendary Street Fighter player and EVO champion Fuudo has announced that he will be appointing fellow professional CoSa as his personal coach in the build-up to Capcom Cup 12.

Fuudo made the announcement on social media, confirming that CoSa will be assisting with his preparation in the lead-up to the tournament. He also pre-emptively addressed concerns around conflicts of interest, clarifying that CoSa will not be helping him develop countermeasures against Kobayan.

Capcom Cup's Group B is Strong

Fuudo qualified for Capcom Cup 12 by winning Blink Respawn in 2025, extending his impressive streak of consecutive Capcom Cup appearances. He has been placed in Group B alongside KawanoEndingWalker, and Bravery, with his opening match set against Bravery.

CoSa is well known as a shoto specialist, typically favouring Ryu and Ken. That makes this coaching arrangement particularly noteworthy, as it could offer Fuudo strong practice against characters similar to those used by EndingWalker, who is widely regarded as one of the best Ryu players in the world.

Fuudo's Potential Conflict Of Interest

Because CoSa is contracted to Sainshunkan Sol Kumamoto, the same organisation represented by Kobayan, Fuudo was careful to stress that the coaching partnership would not extend to preparation for that matchup. The clarification was clearly intended to avoid any perception of impropriety.

Sainshunkan Sol Kumamoto later echoed Fuudo’s statement, confirming that there would be no conflict of interest and expressing support for the collaboration.

Strong Momentum Heading Into Capcom Cup

Fuudo heads into Capcom Cup 12 in excellent form after winning Street Fighter League Japan with REJECT, alongside TokidoLeShar, and longtime friend and rival Daigo Umehara.

That lineup will reunite on the world stage at the Street Fighter League World Championship, where they will face the champions from SFL US and Europe.

With Capcom Cup 12 approaching, Fuudo’s decision to bring in CoSa underlines just how seriously even the most accomplished veterans are treating their preparation.
