Tonight, an online Mortal Kombat 1 tournament took place, organized and hosted by a competitor and content creator Stacy "xostacyftw", and sponsored by Paidia Gaming. With around 30 competitors, bracket was actually stacked with some world-class players, such as TheMightyUnjust, Young_Chicuelo, sooneo, ElCucuy, and many others. With no room for mistake due to single elimination format, competitors played out of their minds sometimes to stay alive and take a part of $250 prize pool home.
TheMightyUnjust' team of Reiko and freshly released Tremor looked frankly terrifying in the first couple of sets, but appeared to be no match for Getrekedyo' Johnny Cage. The latter took down Kevodaman in Jonny mirror later this evening to make it all the way up to the Grand Finals.
On the other half of the bracket, Gunter made a statement with a capital S with their Omni-Man performance, taking down Aphrodite and sooneo in a very tight 3-2 sets to earn a place in the final game of the night. Though they started off strong, the adaptation and some crazy reads from Getrekedyo turned this first-to-5 game into one-sided at some point and Getrekedyo finished of with a 5-2 victory. Off-screen, sooneo took down Kevodaman to grab a bronze medal.
