Four MultiVersus Characters Already Poised for The Nerf Block
The game isn't in its Beta testing stage and nerfs are already coming out

While the fighting game market is already saturated, there is certainly room for a game that gets it right. MultiVersus, an upcoming game from Warner Bros. is seeking the title of 'best' fighting game. The game which features almost every character from the Warner Bros. IP, has already created a stir within the FGC with its announcement that it will be featured at Evo and some of the early reviews of its gameplay.

The game is currently in Alpha testing before going to Beta and then launch, but in that time some balancing issues have already been discovered. According to the game's director, Tony Huynh, four characters are in line to be nerfed. The characters who will see these nerfs are Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, Harley Quinn, and Reindog, an original character unique to the game.

According to Huynh, these characters will be getting longer punish windows which should balance them out and make them less of an uphill battle matchup-wise.

With a July release date mooted, the release of this much-anticipated game is drawing nearer and nearer. In the meantime, the game's developers, Player First Games, will look to fix some bugs while also improving the stability and matchmaking system.

MultiVersus is a platformer fighting game and will have crossplay available from launch. It has also been confirmed that the game will feature rollback netcode and will be free-to-play.

The potential success of the game could go a long way in convincing more game developers and publishers that a free-to-play model could work.

We will wait and see how things pan out, but the current hype surrounding the game is certainly exciting
