FGC Rewind 2021

Fighting games provide us with lots and lots of entertainment each year, and 2021 has not been any different, even with the difficult circumstances we find ourselves in. We witnessed some highly awaited game releases like Guilty Gear -STRIVE-, MELTY BLOOD: Type Lumina, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, saw an improved re-release of the iconic Virtua Fighter 5, received patches and updates for many current titles. The professional scene also saw a revival, after last year’s stagnation, with the events like Frosty Faustings, WUFL Season 1, Evo 2021 Online, Red Bull Kumite, CEO, and others. There was also drama, with bands, TO-rights recalls, accusations, and beefs.
