His friends already started a gofundme to help with legal fees.
Today, Say-Co of The Hiero Group shared disturbing news that Ludovic "Lud" Mbock has been detained by ICE.
The circumstances surrounding this situation aren't clear yet, and we sadly haven't heard any updates from Ludovic himself.
However, his friends and teammates have already set up a gofundme to fight for Lud and help him out with inevitable legal fees. It's currently sitting at nearly $42k USD out of the total $50k goal.
According to an update on the campaign's page, this was already helpful in paying off the initial fees.
Since the news came out, many members of the FGC came out to show their support for Ludovic. According to Sam Machkovech, while Ludovic emigrated from Cameroon, he spent over half his life in the United States and graduated from high school in Maryland back in 2006.
As he points out, a fighting game player who lived in the US for most of his life and is characterized by everyone who knows him as one of the nicest people around is hardly the sort of person that the government should be trying to crack down on.
Sadly, this is nothing new for ICE, who already have a death toll of as many as 8 innocent people in 2026. They also have a history of targeting vulnerable people and detaining them with or without a cause.
We hope that he can be freed as soon as possible, and he faces no further injustice.
