Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Patch Notes for Version 1.4.0
Some big changes are coming to South Town.

Alongside the release of Joe Higashi, SNK is shaking things up with a new major patch for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. No big balance changes this time around, but lots of new features and quality of life improvements.

You can check out the full patch here, but let's look at the brief summary of what you can expect:

  • Phase 1 of Ranked Begins: ranks will not be calculated per character, and come with a nice little visual upgrade for the rank icons.
  • New Leaderboard: leaderboards are also getting a visual overhaul, alongside compacting more info in one placed. Like having character rank and mastery on the same screen, and allowing you to use more filter options.
  • Updated Battle Settings: Your preferred stage and music settings are now separate, so you can choose to shuffle between them more freely. For the result screen you can also switch between showing your overall winrate or points needed to reach next rank.
  • Online Improvements: The game finally has a wi-fi indicator and match confirmation pop-up. This comes alongside general connectivity improvements.
  • General Quality of Life: Your online profile now includes a quick link to your Steam or Epic Store profile. Trials have a shortcuts submenu. Display settings now have an option to choose which monitor you want the game to run on. Gallery now includes regional versions of legacy Fatal Fury openings. Color edits and cursor movement also received small improvements and adjustments.

Now for the fixes:

  • EOST: Frame advantage on blocked Super Dodge Attack should now be universal across all characters and match the regular Dodge Attack.
  • Settings: Subtitle opacity should now apply correctly in EOST mode.

Finally, the battle adjustments that fix unintended behavior:

  • General: Fixed the issue of normal attacks having counter hit property when landing after projectile counter hit.
  • Terry Bogard: High dodge attack hitbox was expanded downward to fix situations where it wouldn't hit despite reaching the opponent. Fixed the issue where REV Power Wave could come out when doing REV Burning Wave.
  • Marco Rodrogues: wakeup roll no longer possible after light Kouhou counter hit.
  • Christiano Ronaldo: fHP incorrectly had less hit stun than intended on Wild Punish.
