Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves – Kain R. Heinlein Trailer
Goodbye charges.

Another classic character is returning to City of the Wolves. Latest trailer from SNK shows off Kain R. Heinlein.

In the previous game, he served as a final boss, as long as you were good enough to face him. If not, you will have to be satisfied with fighting his bodyguard, Grant.

This time around, you won't need to enter a code to actually play him, but those who were familiar with the character are in for a surprise.

On the official website, SNK revealed his movelist, and something that many people have immediately noticed, is that pretty much all of his moves are now done with motion inputs, not charging.

Flashkick is all that remains. It's not the biggest surprise, since it many new iterations of fighting games are seemingly avoiding motion inputs where possible, but still a shame for those who enjoy the charge character archetype. Difficult or not, what's important is that these characters provide a completely different way of experience the gameplay.

Outside these changes, SNK is keeping Kain true to his identity, with a unique set of projectiles that allow him to control space. If anything, this accent on zoning is further expanded thanks to the new "Schwarzes Rondo" special move that summons a sphere that Kain can detonate or leave on the screen.

As a reminder, you will be able to experience the open beta for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves in just a few days. The beta will be online from February 20 to 24, available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
