Fans Bring Back an Obscure King of Fighters Clone From Tencent

Usually calling some video game a clone of another game is too dismissive or outright disrespectful. However, in the case of Xuan Dou Zhi Wang it's kind of the entire point. 

The King of Fighters games enjoyed notable popularity in China, but the country had a brutal ban on video game consoles from 2000 to 2015, making the primary platform for most fighting games pretty inaccessible.

Tencent presumably saw an opportunity to pick up the slack if SNK weren't going to do it themselves, and had Jade Studio make a game that is very recognisably King of Fighters.

Funnily enough, the SNK eventually had an official collab that added Terry and Benimaru to the game, cementing the parallel even further.

Unfortunately, few people outside of China even heard about it, and even fewer managed to get their hands on it, until now.

It's unclear who exactly brought it back and how, considering the person who first shared the good news on Reddit got nuked, but what matters is that it's playable now.
