Fan Creates Mockups of Umamusume: Pretty Derby Fighting Game
The trainer is no longer safe.

Even before Umamusume got a release on PC, the game had a death grip on the anime girl connoisseurs, but these days? Millions upon millions are training up Gold Ship in hopes that this time she locks in and gets the first place.

Whenever something takes off this much, you start seeing a lot of cool creations from the fans. From simple fan art, to high effort mods in various games, animations, and even games.

One of the somewhat recent examples is sort of the latter, but not really. Twitter user Toshipippi has been posting various short videos that imagine what an Umamusume fighting game would look like.

This looks like a proper fighting game, with some obvious inspiration taken from the most recent Guilty Gear title, but it's actually just very clever editing and animation work in MikuMikuDance, the animation software that people traditionally used to use models they ripped from other games and make them do silly dances.

Toshipippi has been going at it for quite a while, and has several other examples of supers, intro animations, and win poses.

For a little hobby project, this is honestly quite an amazing level of quality, very much on par or at least close to what you might expect from an actual triple A fighting game, bar the assets of course.
