The Hololive fighting game draws over 10,000 Players

Besto Game Team has released Idol Showdown on May 6th exclusively for Steam for free. A team of Hololive fans has been developing this fighting game for two years and achieved surprising success at the launch.

Idol Showdown drew over 10,000 Players and 200,000 downloads over the launch weekend, as the developers already announced on Twitter:

According to the Steam DB, the all-time peak for Idol Showdown is ~10,900, along with ~3,800 current players. This statistic puts the game at Top-5 on Steam, behind only Tekken 7, Shop Titans, Brawlhalla, and Naraka: Bladepoint.

Of course, this result was influenced by the system requirements and the distribution model of the product, allowing almost any PC owner to run the brawler. However, Hololive idols also influenced the result by streaming the game and competing with fans in the lobby.

Idol Showdown has a basic Rollback Netcode option, eight characters at launch, and three scheduled free updates. You can check out the trailer for the game below or download the game via the link.
