Ex-Bandai Namco Employee Arrested for Embezzling Millions

The Japan Times has just released the news about an arrest of the former Bandai Namco employee. The 59-year-old Yoichi Toyosumi was taken in on suspicion of embezzlement.

Despite the recent arrest, the whole issue came to light in 2021 when Bandai Namco Holdings noticed a discrepancy. Yoichi's position in the company put him in charge of procurement and distribution of the phones used in the development of Bandai Namco products, which he abused to embezzle roughly 400 million yen.

In 2022, he was already terminated from the company, with the company filing charges against him. Yoichi already admitted his guilt, so the rest is up to the courts.
