The Esports World Cup (EWC) has released its official tournament rulebook, and one of the standout revelations is the prize pool distribution for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
According to the updated rulebook, the tournament winner will take home $300,000, while the runner-up will earn a substantial $155,000. Notably, all players in the top 16 will receive a payout, with those placing 13th to 16th earning $20,000 each, an amount that exceeds the total prize pools of many other events. This generous payout structure is expected to make City of the Wolves a major highlight of the EWC.
Another important detail is the confirmation that all matches will be played in a best-of-five format. This change comes in response to community feedback, as many players had expressed concerns about the fast-paced nature of City of the Wolves matches. A first-to-three format offers more room for adaptation and is considered more suitable for high-level competitive play.
