NODWIN Gaming acquires Evo from Sony, which becomes a global sponsor, as new partnerships fuel global expansion for the premier fighting game event.

The Evolution Championship Series has undergone a significant ownership change and formed new multi-year partnerships. Sony Interactive Entertainment has sold its stake in Evo to NODWIN Gaming, an Indian based esports organization with growing presence in smaller regional markets. Sony will transition to becoming a global sponsor of Evo through 2028, maintaining its support for the fighting game community.

The new co-owner, NODWIN Gaming, alongside existing shareholder RTS, will operate Evo. Concurrently, Qiddiya, a Saudi Arabian entertainment project, has invested in RTS and extended its global partnership with Evo through 2027. This realignment is designed to accelerate Evo's international expansion, create more original content, and enhance immersive live event experiences.

This strategic shift follows a period of record growth for Evo. Its flagship Las Vegas event drew competitors from over 60 countries, while Evo Japan became the country's largest in-person tournament. The series is expanding to Europe for the first time in Nice, France, and is scheduled to launch in Singapore in 2027.
