Ever Wondered What a Perfect Street Fighter IV Combo Looks Like?
Dantarion's new tool is breaking Street Fighter IV down into pieces and assembles the combos you will probably never see in real matches.

Even 18 years after Street Fighter IV released, the fascination with the depth of this game does not cease. It's fair to say that between a lot of insanely difficult links and options that each character has, most of the roster never truly reached their peak potential, and will probably never will. The execution requirements for the theoretical best combos, or at least niche routes that optimize for different values (stun, corner carry, etc.), are simply too much.

However, there's nothing that a computer can't do, and by extention, nothing that a talented programmer can't achieve with a bit of clever engineering. Such is the case for Dantarion who has been teasing bits and pieces of his new tool for the past few weeks.

If you've been following speedrunning scenes, you've likely seen something similar before. Tech like this is often used to find the fastest possible paths through the game (and even discover new glitches) by simulating more runs than a human could ever do within their natural lifespan.

It's not every day that you see this used for fighting games though, and it's fascinating what sort of things are possible when execution is no longer a factor.

Dantarion has updated it since the original release, so now it's also way more neat and easier to follow thanks to a slick overlay.

If this got you curious, makes sure to give Dantarion a follow, there's no doubt more cool Street Fighter IV combos will follow.
