Prior to the EWC start, there will be the final few episodes of its offshoot documentary series Level Up
The five-part documentary series, Esports World Cup: Level Up, directed by Emmy winner R.J. Cutler, provides an inside look at the inaugural 2024 Esports World Cup (EWC) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Produced by This Machine (Sony Pictures Television), follows 1,500 top players and 200 Clubs from 100 countries competing in 22 tournaments for a record $60 million prize pool. The first three episodes are now available on Prime Video, with Episode 4 premiering on June 27 and the final episode on July 4.
Episodes 1 through 3 showcase the tournament's start, featuring Team Falcons’ Call of Duty: Warzone squad, led by Soka from San Mateo, California. They face their former rivals at Fnatic for a $1 million prize. Esports giant Team Liquid struggles against hometown favorites Team Falcons. Their League of Legends team competes against GOAT Faker, while 17-year-old Sanford carries his family’s hopes in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. And NAVI’s CS2 team fights for national pride against G2 and ex-prodigy M0nesy, and Team Vitality’s MLBB women’s team, led by sisters Cinny and Chel, overcomes grief to make a statement for women in esports.
