ESL Play, the company's online tournament platform, will be shut down on April 30th this year. In a statement posted today on the site, ESL also announced that operations will be moving to its partner organization, FACEIT.

This follows after ESL and FACEIT officially merged in 2022, a few years after the combined organization went through a round of layoffs that affected roughly 15% of its employees. This is likely the next step in their re-organization under the Saudi-backed investment group.
