Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO Is Back With a New Edition
The game is bigger and better than ever.

In 2024 Bandai Namco revived a classic series of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi arena fighters with Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO.

Even though arena fighters rarely pop up in competitive context, Budokai Tenkaichi enjoyed some popularity with fighting game fans. Even though part of it is definitely down to how much people love Dragon Ball, some of it also comes down to the depth of gameplay that the series offered.

Sparking! ZERO for the most part managed to live up to this legacy and earned immense popularity among the fans, including those in the FGC.

Now, 2 years after release, they're announcing a brand new version with an equally ridiculous name of Super-Limit Breaking Neo.

This edition is adding 30+ characters, with some of them appearing for the first time, such as Super 17, Bardock, Super Saiyan, Champa, and GT Vegeta. They will be coming alongside new stages and customization options.

Another big selling point for this edition is a new solo mode. The game's store page doesn't offer the most informative description, but it sounds like a more or less a standard arcade mode mixed with an RPG component, where you go between different areas to fight new opponents and build up your unique character with a unique set of abilities.
