Unlike Bandai Namco's SoulCalibur, Tekken used to be a fairly isolated series, only allowing Gon to be a guest before shutting the door until Tekken 7 came around. That game provided us with a rather wild selection. Akuma and Geese brought a piece of Capcom vs. SNK into the Tekken universe, while Noctis and Negan represented some of the most unlikely inclusions that anyone would ever expect.
Despite that, we've yet to see any guest characters coming along for Tekken 8. Harada himself voiced the desire to focus on legacy characters first and foremost, before guests can even be considered, but it's still up in the air if we'll see any at all.
In this video, we take a look at the brief history of guests in fighting games, weight in on the pros and cons of it, and answer whether Tekken 8 needs to add guests or not. Please come along, and tell us what you think!
