Dead Or Alive Reboot Announced
The popular 3D fighter will be making a comeback

One of the biggest 3D fighting games of the last three decades, Dead or Alive, will be getting the reboot treatment. This was announced at the recently concluded Korea G-Star Conference in Busan, South Korea.

Dead or Alive was one of the pioneers of the 3D fighting era, with the first title coming out in 1996. Since then, it has spawned six titles with the last one coming out in 2019. Unfortunately, DOA 6 was not received very well due to a myriad of problems, including some sketchy microtransactions which alienated the player base.

However, Team Ninja is determined to do much better this time around, as they mentioned during a keynote address at the G-Star Conference. During the speech, Team Ninja’s president Fumihiko Yasuda revealed that they had a bunch of plans and are currently working on Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which comes out in 2023,  and Rise of Ronin, which is slated for a 2024 release.

Alongside DOA, Team Ninja will also work on a reboot for the popular Ninja Gaiden game. It is unclear what DOA will be like, if there would be any changes to the lore, or if there would be anything else added.

As it stands, there is very little information regarding the game, but from what has been said so far, we can glean that the Dead or Alive game is more likely to come out around 2025 and beyond, as they would need to finish their current projects before diving into DOA

Regardless, this is something for fans of the game to look forward to and hopefully, they will add some novelty and ingenuity to attract an even younger demographic.
