Video games are, at this point, a core part of the entertainment industry and, as an extension, our lives. Over the past decades, they have gone from being niche to becoming more and more accepted and respected. We started teaching game design at schools, artists train to become designers in video games specifically. We even have the gaming equivalent of sports – electronic sports, or esports. This niche has found its way into educational systems as well, with some colleges even offering scholarships to esports players.
But we still have ways to go until these spheres are interconnected on a deeper level. And this is where ESI Next Gen comes in. The second iteration of this event will be held over 6-7th March 2024, with the aim to unite leaders in esports, games, and education.
This event is held in partnership with the Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub at Jesus College, University of Oxford.
DashFight is a huge supporter of integrating video games and esports into educational courses, with and without the context of the fighting games.
