Meet all the winners of our third annual awards show!
Hello, everyone! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Our DashFight Awards 2024 are coming to an end alongside this year, and it’s time to reveal all the winners you voted for.
Just a reminder that the winner of every category was decided by the combination of jury (40%) and audience (60%) votes, and let us tell you, your votes were more than decisive!
Well, let’s begin!
Match of the Year
Match of the Year is one of our favorite categories because it highlights the peak of fighting game performance not only from one player but from two. It takes two to tango, and it also takes two to have one of the best matches of the year
Punk vs BigBird (Evo 2024 Street Fighter 6 Grand Finals)
Tournament of the Year
Tournament of the Year is the category that, more often than not, is decided by how good the final streamed stage is. Great selection of players, exciting, close matches, an upset or two, and a memorable Grand Finals is your recipe for success.
Street Fighter 6 at Evo 2024
Publisher Pro Tour of the Year
Almost all major fighting games are a part of some kind of professional tours hosted by the publishers. Most of them serve as a safeguard for the players who know that they will most definitely have events to look forward to for the whole year.
Capcom Pro Tour 2024
Event of the Year
Event of the Year is the category that highlights, well, the entire event, not only singular tournaments. To have a good event you need great facilities, amenities, places to practice and perform, and, of course, great tournaments.
Evo 2024
Content Creator of the Year
Content Creator of the Year is one of the closest categories we’ve had this year, the winner being decided by literally a couple of audience votes! And it’s understandable; all of our nominees were great: they streamed, they made educational videos, and they entertained us.
Rooflemonger
Commentator of the Year
We, the members of the FGC community, are absolutely blessed to have so many commentators, casters, hosts of absolutely incredible quality. They’re hype, they’re knowledgeable, they’re able to tell you narratives and stories without taking you out of any given match.
Justin Wong
FGC Team or Organization of the Year
Fighting Games are at a really great spot right now, and this is reflected in the community as well: more and more major teams and organizations are taking notice and are signing people from our community. But some teams made more waves than others, and reached some incredible success while supporting its players.
FlyQuest
Breakthrough Player of the Year
With so many new releases already here and even more on the horizon, it’s quite logical that many new players are rising to the challenge, and even some of the older ones are finding the form of their lives and are showing up to get the results they never did before.
UMA
Player of the Year
Each year, there are lots and lots of tournaments and events which are won by many different players. But some of the biggest players aim to win only the biggest events. This year, we have had true titans reaffirm their status of the FGC Gods, and some of these performances will simply go down in history.
Punk
Ongoing Game of the Year
We’re living in such times when fighting games could be supported with balance patches and content drops for majority of the decade, and some of these games are even being supported beyond that. This category is for the devs that care, the communities that are passionate, and the games that are only getting better and better.
Street Fighter 6
Most Anticipated Upcoming Game
This year was awesome for the fighting games, but we’re nowhere near being done yet. Some of the most anticipated games are yet to see the light of day, and the hype is building, reaching enormous levels.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves
Fighting Game of the Year
And it’s time for our ultimate category. We’re all saying that 2023 was real good for the fighting games, and 2024 followed suit. But there were also smaller games, that may not be able to rival the big boys in fidelity or quality, but they definitely do so in passion. So, which game is the Fighting Game of the Year for 2024?
Tekken 8
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking part in this celebration of everything good that FGC stands for. Thank you for recognizing excellence, encouraging progress, and looking forward to our bright future! Congratulations to all the winners! Happy New Year! We’ll see you in 2025!
