Daigo Shows Off His Zangief And It is Remarkable

Zangief is considered one of the weakest characters in the cast, but as with all low-tiers, in the right hands, he could be terrifying. Case in point, Snake Eyez is the only Zangief in Capcom Cup and considering how strong he is, you can be sure that Zangief will do some work. 

In the hands of someone like Daigo Umehara, one of the greatest Street Fighter players ever, well...He's decent. 

Daigo has been using Zangief recently, learning how to use the character and hopping on to ranked to try his hands against some of the best in the world. His Zangief is already at Master rank and while he might never become a Zangief main like Itazan, he is still quite dangerous. 

This was highlighted in a clip put on social media by HiFight in which Daigo won a round with three SPDs against an opponent winning the round with a perfect and showing off what will surely be called the 'Ume SPD.' 

Daigo, unfortunately, is not in Capcom Cup so far and with only the Japan online event and the LCQ as his options to make it in, it is looking less and less likely that the legend will grace Capcom's biggest tournament. 

The Japan online CPT has been postponed with no date put forth for it yet.
