The newest release from Team Arcana is an attempt to bring back on of the game's made by Examu, its predecessor, who themselves used to be known as Yuki Enterprise.
One of their earliest titles was Daemon Bride. On the surface, it's a typical anime fighter from that era, but what sets it apart from other games is the extensive focus on freedom of movement, and the additional emphasis on projectiles.
Despite the common jokes about the neutral or footsies of these incredibly fast-paced anime fighters, Daemon Bride's formula made for a game where depth of zoning and freedom of movement made for a very compelling combo.
Two years after release, it received an updated edition called Daemon Bride: Additional Gain, releasing it for NESiCAxLive arcades. That's the version that Team Arcana is now putting on Steam, almost untouched outside some minor improvements, like the new borders to account for wider resolutions and rollback netcode.
