ChrisCCH Turns Down SFL Esport World Cup Qualification Spot

Street Fighter 6 pro player and 2024 FlyQuest Street Fighter League member ChrisCCH announced today that he would be turning down his official qualification for the Esport World Cup 2025. He had qualified through the SFL 2024 season. In a post, he explained his reasoning behind this, citing the fact that the event is primarily funded by the PIF, a public funding company for the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He also went on to explain that although previously he actively avoided participating in EWC qualifying events due to the nature of the new partnership between Capcom and the EWC, doing so would mean ignoring most major tournaments.
