Street Fighter 61v1$5,000.00
Mexican veteran player, Kusanagi was the winner of the Capcom Pro Tour for Central America West defeating Todakai 3-0 in what was ultimately a comfortable tournament for him and he now has a ticket to Capcom Cup X.
In what can only be described as a dominant run, Kusanagi swept aside all comers defeating SolVNG to get into Top 8 and then defeating RogerFGC and Todakai twice, 3-0 in each instance, to win the coveted prize.
Top 8 Players At CPT Centreal America West
Kusanagi has been unlucky in regards making it to Capcom Cup for such a strong player as he lost out in 2021 due to the cancellation of Capcom Cup that year. He lost out in 2022 in painful circumstances, losing out in the online CPT to SolVNG who went on to win and make Capcom Cup. Meanwhile in the World Warrior Regional Final, he suffered heartbreak again at the hands of Uriel Velorio.
He has, however, come back stronger in Street Fighter 6 with a very formidable Ken which he has used to great effect and now has his just reward.
Unfortunately, Kusanagi's win could not be watched on stream as extreme weather conditions affecting that part of the world made it impossible for the stream to happen. So, fans had to make do with clips on Twitter/X and updates.
It is hoped that everyone affected by the storm stays safe.
The next stop for the CPT is US/Canada West which will take place between the 26th and 27th of August 2023.
