Namikaze was the winner of the Brazil Capcom Pro Tour and he has now qualified for Capcom Cup.
Namikaze is one of the younger players coming up from the Brazilian scene and he defeated a veteran in Keoma 3-0 to make it into Capcom Cup with his Dee Jay.
His dominant display which saw him first defeat Keoma in top 8, then beat Stunner and then Keoma again to get his win.
Brazil is one of those regions with a lot of great players and there is no one player that dominates the region. The likes of JahLexe, RonaldinhoBR, JUNINHO-RAS, DidimoKOF, DARK and so on, have either been CPT winner, Capcom Cup attendees or strong contenders for trophies. Interestingly, the top 16 featured a couple of new faces and top 8 was a decent mix between veterans and fresh blood.
Top 8 CPT Brazil
Besides Namikaze's impressive winners' run, we saw some exceptional performances especially from former Capcom Cup attendee, RonaldinhoBR who went on an inspiring losers' bracket run to take 4th place in the tournament. Ronaldinho had been thrown to losers' as early as pools. He fought through with his menacing Blanka all the way to top 8 and while there he defeated JUNINHO-RAS and Caio_cfs 3-0 each before falling Keoma 2-3.
Keoma for his part was also a lot of fun to watch as he was using Manon, a character who doesn't get a lot of love, and getting all the way to Grand Finals.
With Namikaze's win, he can now do away with the World Warrior event where he took the first tournament against Keoma to garner 50 points. Keoma being in second place can now focus on the competition to see if he will be the second Brazilian representative to make it to Capcom Cup.
Next on the menu for online CPTs is South Africa on the 14-15th of October 2023 where we will get our first African representative for Capcom Cup X. Soon after that, we will get the 2nd offline event which is the Singapore offline on the weekend of the 20th-22nd October 2023.
