Capcom Announces Third Street Fighter Art Contest
Ready for some killer artwork?

Capcom has announced the third Street Fighter art contest, a community-focused initiative where fans create original artwork for a chance to have it featured in-game as a challenger screen.

The previous two contests were well-received, though the last edition drew some controversy after an entrant attempted to submit AI-generated work. Even so, the series has produced striking illustrations featuring the Street Fighter 6 roster.

Entries will be accepted from November 30th until December 31st, 2025, with winners set to be revealed in early 2026.

This year’s format introduces a new two-step selection process: Capcom staff will first narrow the submissions down to a shortlist, after which fans will vote online for their favourites. A total of 28 winning pieces will be added to the game, and their artists will be credited as contributors. Voters will also receive in-game rewards and a unique title.

Community response to the announcement has been broadly positive, though players continue to call for more cosmetic updates. Many have suggested a dedicated costume contest, something Capcom implemented during Street Fighter V’s lifecycle, though it’s unclear whether SF6 will follow suit.

Cosmetics remain relatively limited in Street Fighter 6, a recurring point of criticism alongside the absence of balance patches, which some players feel has caused the game’s meta to stagnate.

Still, parts of the community remain optimistic that a meaningful update might arrive before the year ends, injecting some needed variety into a game that some feel is beginning to plateau.
