Blizzard Games Might Soon Return To China
Activision Blizzard
Will new owners help bury the hatchet?

After one year since Activision Blizzard ended its partnership with the publisher NetEase, its games might return to China. According to the report of 36Kr, Activision Blizzard was actively looking for a partner and decided to return to NetEase. This means that some big Blizzard titles like World of Warcraft, Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 may become official in China.

There were rumours that one of the main reasons why the partnership between Activision Blizzard and NetEase was stopped in the first place was Bobby Kotick, Activision Blizzard CEO. Now, when his last day in the company will be on December 29, and it had changes in the top management, it makes more sense for both sides to bury the hatchet and renew their partnership.

This year, there was a strange situation where Overwatch 2 did not have official servers in China, but Overwatch League had several Chinese teams which had trouble playing the game in their home country. Now, the Overwatch League as we know it is gone, but maybe the Chinese gamers will be able to play Blizzard games soon.
