Despite the overall sour sentiment about the recent State of Play Japan, the fighting game fans have a lot to be happy about, like the new BlazBlue release! Sorry, I meant action roguelite fans have a lot to be funny about.

BlazBlue Entropy Effect is getting a new release on February 12, 2026, titled BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X|S.

Worth noting that this announcement does an exceptionally bad job of actually drawing the distinction between BlazBlue Entropy Effect and this new Entropy Effect X version.

The game is up for pre-order already, but is this just an updated version of the game that has been in Early Access in 2024? Is this something entirely new? If it is a different version, will it be available on other platforms?

There are many questions that are still up in the air, so while the game has generally gathered a favorable feedback, it's worth holding on until the developers make it clear what marks the X.
