BlazBlue Creator Mori Confirms That Studio Flare Is Not In Trouble
While little is known about their upcoming game, they're still open and working.

Recently rumors started to circulate about Studio Flare, a game development company started my Mori Toshimichi, the creator of BlazBlue who left ArcSys in 2022, and Aoki Toshinori, the vice-president of Marvelous Inc.

After their official website went down, people speculated that perhaps the studio is in trouble and might be closing down, but Mori quickly put the rumors to rest by stepping in to clarify things.

To put it simply, this was just a usual issue of the website being briefly unavailable due to the Mori not being to check in on it in time. The website is now back up, and Mori hopes that people will continue to support the studio.

As a reminder, Studio Flare was created almost exactly 3 years ago with the goal of creating "games with an edgy feel that bring excitement to hardcore gamers." Throughout several interviews, the consistently put the focus on freedom of expression and taking risks, rather than trying to make something safe.

However, little is yet known about their current action game project. We only know that they're using Unreal Engine, and judging by the concept art, it's going to be a game set in a sci-fi, cyberpunk type of setting. Although much can change compared to these early concept arts.
