BLAST Will Run Fortnite And Rocket League Competitive Scenes
BLAST
The Denmark-based company signed a multi-year deal with Epic Games.

BLAST, the Denmark-based tournament operator, announced a multi-year deal with Epic Games to be in charge of the competitive circuits for Fortnite and Rocket League. BLAST will run all event production, broadcasts, marketing and commercial rights for the Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) and Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS).

This is a big deal because a big publisher outsources its entire competitive scene to a third-party company. BLAST is mainly known for its Counter-Strike competitive circuit, although it is not exclusive. While this sort of partnership is not the first case of such outsourcing in esports, it is big enough for us to pay attention to it.

If this deal turns out to be beneficial for both sides, we might see more publishers following this example. In the future, it may even happen to some of the fighting games' pro circuits. There is a long path ahead; we should wait and see how everything turns out.
