Biohazard's Mortal Kombat 1 Reiko Character Guide
Pro player Biohazard's guide on the grappler and part-time zoner Reiko to teach you all the secrets of this incredible fighter

As Mortal Kombat 1 developed over the last few weeks, pro players have begun pondering the question as to whether or not Reiko might be a great character or simply good. Today, we at DashFight partnered with pro-NRS player Biohazard to work out what this loyal lieutenant might have to offer for players and how to maximize its potential.

Reiko's Gameplay Basics

Best Buttons & Strings:

  • B2: Is a fantastic way to end combos, as it gives you even more frames on hit.
  • S1,2: A good followup to a D1 to start putting pressure down. Go to combo starter.
  • F2: Good mixup tool as an overhead.
  • B4: is a great sweep that has plus frames on block.
  • D4: On hit is +15F, making it a great way to open up opponents.
  • S3: Really solid anti-air
  • B3: Good tool to whiff punish and combo starter.
  • F4: Great range, but very risky on block.
  • F1,2: Good string. F1 by itself is a good combo starter as it is a good advancing mid.

Specials

  • BD1: Parry, works on mids and high but will lose out to lows and air attacks. If you amplify it will give you a combo opportunity.
  • BF2: Great zoning tool, normally high but you can amplify it to make it a mid and add a few more projectiles to it.
  • BF3: normally a slide, but you can cancel, amplify, or modify it by pressing down twice, amplify, or up respectively.
  • DB3: A good combo ender, leaves you plus at the end of it to continue pressuring. It is also an armored wakeup but it can be punished on block.
  • BDF1: Command grab, you can end your combos with it, but its not the best option on the table and has multiple other uses. Normally a high grab but if you spend 2 bars it becomes a mid.
