Big Bird & Bonchan Set For Grudge Match at Red Bull's Revenge Event

Red Bull Gaming will be holding a unique event during the Tokyo Game Show called Revenge.

As the name implies, it will be a series of grudge match exhibitions between eight different players. The first match has already been announced, with two-time Red Bull Kumite champion Big Bird set to take on Japanese legend and former Evo champion Bonchan.

The two players have quite a bit of competitive history, with Bonchan famously defeating Big Bird in Grand Finals at Evo 2019. Big Bird also defeated Bonchan at Red Bull Kumite later that year, and the two have gone back and forth across Street Fighter IV, Street Fighter V, and Street Fighter 6.

There are three more matches still to be announced, with Red Bull promising to reveal them in the near future.

Each match will be a FT5, with the winner earning bragging rights.

In the meantime, Bonchan and Big Bird will both focus on preparing for their individual Street Fighter League matches, with the former representing Crazy Raccoon, while the latter has formed a team with perennial partner AngryBird and Scandinavian champions Juicy Joe and Phenom under Red Dune Esports.

The Red Bull event will take place during TGS on the 21st of September 2026.
