Bandai Namco Will Ban You for Mods in DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO
Shrek... you'll have to sit this one out.

Bandai Namco's account for all of its Dragon Ball games has recently issued a statement that if you use mods in the Custom Battle game mode of DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO, you might just get banned. So this is both a warning and a heads-up for people to delete their Custom Battles that utilize mods.

It's not a surprise that Japanese developers tend to be vocally against mods. Not long ago, Capcom and Square Enix's Naoki Yoshida expressed their concerns about mods, and Bandai Namco was never enthusiastic about them either.

However, the concern might be more legitimate this time around. When you create a custom battle, you also create a thumbnail for it that anyone can see. This means that the sky is the limit for what can be shown here. CJ vs Shrek doesn't sound too but, but it could just as easily be gore, pornography, and anything that wants to be between those two. Even if you don't think that such a scenario is likely, it is hard to deny that this is a legitimate concern.

That said, outright banning people who do simply create goofy crossover battles seems like a bit of an overkill, no? There could be other solutions to it, but Bandai Namco was clearly looking to put a quick stop to this first and foremost.
