Bandai Namco Responds To TWT Controversy With New Concession
There might be a slightly happier ending to this story

Following the controversy around the Tekken World Tour 2024 master event at Thaiger Uppercut in Thailand where a Chinese player, XCC, was disqualified even after almost making it into top 8, Bandai Namco have issued a statement on their plans to make the situation better.

XCC, who was competing under Team Essence, who had just signed him on recently, was deemed to be in violation of the TWT recidency rules which doesn't have China as one of the nations catered to. This caused an outrage that Bandai Namco have since apologized for.

However, they have found some sort of compromise stating in another statement that they will allow XCC and other Chinese players to compete in the Last Chance Qualifiers which will hold in Japan around the end of the year.

They also added that they would be looking at their rules again to ensure that such an incident doesn't come up again.

XCC's team, Essence, responded thanking everyone for their support.

China has been on the rise in the competitive FGC with Xiao Hai recently winning the Esports World Cup for Street Fighter 6 as well as being the undisputed greatest in King of Fighters. China has also brought forward some really good Tekken players also and the country is becoming a powerhouse nation.
