Gameplay details and closed alpha test announced for the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender fighting game.

A new trailer provides a detailed look at the controls for "Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game," showcasing its main gameplay features. The game, inspired by the "Avatar: The Last Airbender" and "The Legend of Korra" series, is being developed by Gameplay Group International and is set for release in Summer 2026. It will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

The gameplay is designed as a four-button fighter, with dedicated buttons for Light, Medium, and Heavy Attacks. The fourth button, called "Flow," is crucial for defense and movement. When pressed alone, it activates a Flow Stance that automatically blocks attacks. When used with directional commands, it allows for various evasive moves and counterattacks unique to each character.

This system seems built to establish a unique identity within the genre, focusing on tactical positioning and responsive gameplay. Using Aang as an example, the trailer showed how his Flow moves enable him to navigate around opponents both on the ground and in the air. Success appears to rely more on mastering this system than on executing complex input commands. For those eager to try the mechanics early, a closed alpha test will be held from December 5 to December 7. Registration is open now, and the game can be wishlisted on Steam.
