New 2D fighter adapts Avatar bending for combat — watch the Aang trailer and mark your calendar for the December closed-alpha and summer 2026 release.

A new trailer for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game highlights Aang’s unique moves and bending skills, offering \a clear look at how combat will unfold. The footage emphasizes Aang’s aerial maneuverability, wind attacks, and combo sequences, providing an initial glimpse of the game’s overall combat system. The game is being developed by Gameplay Group International in collaboration with Paramount Global. It is set to launch in Summer 2026 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (Via Steam).

Ahead of the official launch, a Closed Alpha Playtest is scheduled from December 5 to December 7, 2025. This initial testing phase will feature a small roster including Aang, Korra, Katara, and Zuko, and will only be accessible to players in North and South America. Although the alpha’s regional scope is currently limited, developers have announced plans for a global playtest later on. Aside from the Aang trailer, the game’s official Steam page confirmed a 12-character roster at launch, a “Flow System” aimed at movement-intensive, fluid combat, support characters that modify fighting styles and special moves, cross-play with rollback netcode, combo trials, a single-player campaign, and a gallery mode.
