Avatar Legends Reveals Year 1 Roster and 5th Character Vote Options

Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game recently held a panel where they finally revealed their plans for the Year 1 line up of DLC characters. 

So far we know the first 4 of them, and 5th will be decided by a vote. However, let's just focus on the locked in characters for now.

The base roster already has some pretty iconic picks that you'd expect, and it seems like Year 1 will be a bit of a balance between adding the heavy hitters alongside some slightly less popular but still interesting characters.

So we got Uncle Iroh (notably in his Earth Kingdom disguise), Ty Lee, Lei Beifong, and Bolin. Aside from fluctuating popularity, this also leaves us with an even split between Aang and Korra show reps.

However, the most interesting part is that we get to vote on who will be the fifth character in this selection, and there are some great options here:

• Tenzin - Korra's teacher and Aang's youngest child, he is a master air bender who will have a lot of air mobility.
• Kuvira - master of bending both earth and metal.
• Amon - leader of the anti-bender movement who is a master blood bender and chi blocker.
• King Bumi - king of Omashu and a very unorthodox earth bending master.
• Asami Sato - doesn't have bending powers, but she is a talented engineer and will have an assortment of tools and gadgets at her disposal.

What's really funny, is that people who want to vote here will have to put their money where their mouth is. Only those who pre-order the game will get to have a stake in which character gets added to the game. While people never like to be excluded, this is a genuinely smart move, why make a character for people who probably aren't even going to buy the game? Doing it this way at least ensures that people will vote for characters they genuinely want to (and likely will) play.

Though let's be real here, this is a vote between Amon and Asami, and something tells me that Korra's girlfriend is gonna bag another W.
