Arya Tayebi of That Blasted Salami Is Making a Fighting Game
Street Fighter and Tekken are cited as main inspirations, with defence-break system being at the core of the game.

If you know Tekken, you probably know That Blasted Salami. While the channel has been less active as of late, it still hosts some of the most well put together Tekken guides that covered characters and systems in style.

Though it's mostly known for Tekken, the channel did branch out into other games and even other genres, and Arya himself has a long history with fighting games beyond things that were featured on TBS.

Everyone who is that passionate about the genre eventually considers making something of their own, and it seems like Arya has caught that drive as well.

While it seems to be in what people usually refer to as prototyping and pre-production, you know things are serious when there are proper considerations for potential hires on the project.

If my understanding is correct, Arya is aiming for a Unity game that utilizes Universal Fighting Engine (UFE), a toolkit that lays down a lot of the groundwork to make whatever fighter you have in mind.

There also seems to be a focus on ensuring the base foundation for this game would be flexible and easy to iterate upon, which is usually the focus of designer oriented tools.

While these are some exciting news, keep in mind that making any video game at all is a massive undertaking, especially when it's something as intricate as a fighting game. It's impossible to guess how all this will play out, but we wish Arya success in bringing his game to life!
