Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match Is Coming to Steam
It's (not) alive!

We've recently had a video talking Japan exclusive fighting games, and Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match used to be one of these! Released in arcades in 2011, it would come out a year later on PS3, and would only get released outside of Japan after another year, in 2013.

However, the game has been delisted for a long time now, there was no official way to play it, and the preservation of the title became a lot more difficult.

Now, in a return that nobody expected, Aquapazza is coming back for a worldwide Steam release. Don't get too happy, though, we're not allowed to have nice things, after all.

Nowhere in this release do they indicate that the game is coming back with any sort of updated or expanded features. The roster of characters and gameplay seem to be intact, which is great. What's not so great is no mention of rollback.

What's even more puzzling, is that in their steam tags, the game only has single-player selected. This could be a mistake on the end of whoever set it up, because you would at least expect to see a "Shared/Split-screen PvP" tag that would signify the presence of a local versus mode.

If we're being realistic, even a robust set of updates and extra features would not suddenly turn Aquapazza into a popular release. It's a niche title that only two groups have interest in – diehard fighting game enjoyers, and Aquaplus fans. There's not too many of those, but it's even worse to disappoint an already small but dedicated playerbase.
