April Fools in the FGC
How did fighting game publishers "celebrate" the occasion?

Do you feel silly? Mischievous, maybe? Well, stop. It's too late, April Fools was yesterday, now it's time to be a serious adult and dispense factual information, as per usual. However, before that, let's look at what kind of profoundly unserious stuff the fighting games have been up to.

Capcom didn't do anything directly with Street Fighter 6, but Honkai: Star Rail has them covered on that front. Their social media account put the game's cute little mascot into the game.

Arc System Works went for the classic "fake character" joke as well, but instead of a crossover, it's their own schmuck criminal from the Strive story mode.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising went above and beyond compared to others, changing the title to Fanblue Grantasy Rises: Versing and putting out a crazy trailer done by the amazing AC-Bu team that brought us many absurd animations over the years. If you're into anime, you've likely seen their outrageous sketched in Pop Team Epic, while others surely remember their godlike music video for Galo Sengen.

Even Tekken joined in on the joke this time around by adding a comical battle pass with rewards that will make even the grumpiest players laugh, oh you silly Bandai Namco, you really got us with this one.
