After the recent merger with Microsoft, many questions remained about the fate of the employees at Activision Blizzard. Following a massive reported layoff of 1900 employees from Microsoft, today it has been reported by various now former employees that the esport arm of the company has been heavily reduced from 60 down to 12 employees. The layoffs include many high-profile and veteran members of its team.

Among the affected are Call of Duty League and Overwatch League personnel. This is after the news that the operations of those premier tier 1 competitions would be given to Saudi-owned ESL/FACEIT.
