The rapper could play the role of Balrog
Curtis Jackson, better known by his stage name 50 Cent, could be the next actor to take up the role of the Street Fighter boxer, Balrog.
The news was first broken by Nexus Point News who said that the rapper is in line to play one of the 4 villain generals in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. There has been no official confirmation if 50 Cent will in fact play the role, but the rapper, alluded to this in a post on social media where he said that there are 'no days off'.
It was also reported that Callina Liang from 2025's 'The Presence' could also be in line to play Chun-Li.
50 Cent has been in several movies over his long career, including Righteous Kill, and the most recent Den Of Thieves movie.
The production of the Street Fighter movie has been quite troubled with directorial changes and release date postponements. After the departure of Danny & Michael Philippou of 'Talk To Me' fame, the movie finally got Kitao Sakurai of Bad Trip as the director in February 2025. Sony, who are the global distributors, pulled the movie from its 2026 lineup even after it was initially slated to come out then as far back as 2024.
Now, there has been no official confirmation of any of the cast members, but the rumors are swirling, and it is hoped that there is more information from an official source soon enough.
