Biography

Story

Back in the day, when Guile was just a trainee in the US Air Force, he became friends with his superior officer Charlie Nash, who later taught him a unique fighting style with the use of Sonic Booms - waves of concentrated ki-force, launched by the quick arm motion. However, Guile never mastered the technique as well as Charlie, so he could launch Sonic Booms with two hands, while Charlie could do so with one.

Guile and his allies, like Chun-Li and Ryu, fought the sinister criminal organization Shandaloo and their leader M. Bison over the years. During one of the first encounters with M. BisonRyu, with the help of Chun-LiGuile, and Charlie Nash, defeats the evil dictator and forces him to regenerate in the psycho drive. However, Guile and Charlie were caught in the blast when Bison's base exploded, and while Guile somehow escaped and was later found by Ryu and Chun-LiCharlie Nash was missing and has been considered dead for many years. However, Guile always believed that his missing friend was still alive, which gave him additional motivation to fight off Shandaloo and other criminals.

Years later, after the continuous war against Shandaloo and their weapon division called S.I.N.Guile encounters resurrected Charlie Nash. While old friends had to fight over the key to Black Moons, Shandaloo's terrifying weapon, later, they had a proper reunion and planned the final assault on Shandaloo. During the confrontation with M. BisonCharlie attempts a suicide attack in hopes of taking down Bison once and for all but fails, while Guile helplessly watches his friend die, for real this time. However, Ryu finishes off M. Bison, and Guile escapes the explosion with his allies, knowing that the enemy is finally defeated and his friend is avenged.

Guile spent recent years enjoying a peaceful life with his family, but a new battle looms.

Appearance

Guile is a tall fit man with blond hair, a beard, and green eyes. He wears a blue military sleeveless vest, jeans, and sneakers. Guile's signature haircut hasn't changed since his very first appearance in Street Fighter II. His overall appearance has been inspired by JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga character Jean Pierre Polnareff, according to producer Noritaka Funamizu.

Gameplay

Guile is a zoner with a great set of mid and long-ranged pokes, projectile attacks, and great anti-air moves to counter his opponent's offense. However, his movement speed is quite slow, and most of his special moves must be charged, so it pins him down for a moment and makes him somewhat vulnerable. Also, due to the relatively simple game plan, Guile can be very predictable
