Biography

Story

Chun-Li started to learn various martial arts early in her life, inspired by the classical play Peking Opera and Bruce Lee movies. She learned Tai Chi, Hongquan, taekwondo, and karate, picking up various moves from different technics and creating her own style. Chun-Li's father played a huge part in her training. Primarily thanks to him, Chun-Li is known for her signature kicks, as her father was said to have "legendary legs."

Eventually, Chun-Li's father went missing, and she became a detective at the age of eighteen in hopes of finding him. Later she became a narcotics investigator at Interpol, just like her father, and her work was closely tied to the criminal organization Shandaloo and their illegal weapon and narcotics sales. At some point, she also learned that Shandaloo is most likely responsible for her father's disappearance. M. Bison, a sinister Shandaloo leader, confirms that he killed Chun-Li's father and will do the same to her if she'll ever attacks him again.

Over the years, Chun-Li teamed up with other protagonists like Charlie Nash, Ryu, and Guile, to track and take down Shandaloo, their henchmen, and the Dictator himself - M. Bison. She found many new friends and new enemies along the way, emerged victorious, and suffered heavy defeats. In the end, M. Bison was defeated once and for all by Ryu, with Chun-Li and other protagonists taking a massive part in the final assault.

Nowadays, Chun-Li is running Kung-Fu classes while being the director of the special criminal intelligence division at ICPO. A mysterious JP and his shady frauds worldwide bring Chun-Li back to business with new fights to take.

Appearance

Chun-Li is a fit Chinese woman with dark hair. She wears a pale blue cheongsam with dark blue and golden patterns and blue leggings. Her signature hairstyle, "ox horns," is a traditional Chinese way to dress hair.

Gameplay

Chun-Li has a great set of mid-range pokes, anti-projectile moves, and excellent ground mobility. However, her jump is very slow, and Serenity Stream adds a lot of complexity to her combos and blockstrings. She requires precise execution and a good sense of the range; otherwise, she can be heavily punished.
