TNS Mortal Kombat 1 #7: Smoky

It’s not the first online tournament with the newest Mortal Kombat 1 patch, but the fresh balance will reveal itself better with the time flow.

The trend of using Kung Lao as a kameo in MK1 online competitions continued at this tournament. And in addition to this, it’s hard not to notice the massive presence of Sub-Zero in Top 8.

TheMightyUnjust played Kenshi/Sub-Zero again (Top 8) — like at IKFK NA, Week 5. It was especially interesting to see the full-mirror match vs Ralessfgc in the Losers Round 1.

JustNasty experimented with two kameos in Top 8. First, the player took Kung Lao with Smoke but switched to Sareena as kameo in the Semi-Final. At some point at the Winners Final, JustNasty returned to Kung Lao — and that was another type of mirror match, having only the same kameo.

Sareena was back for the fight in the Grand Final, JustNasty vs TheMightyUnjust. And she remained an active kameo despite JustNasty losing two games in the beginning. Then, the player won three games in a row, the match, and the whole tournament.

Another notable online series, Kolosseum Season V, returns this weekend after a short gap for ECT 2023, the first Pro Kompetition 2023/2024 tournament.

Also, Mortal Kombat 1 will be present at First Attack 2023, a big fighting esports event in Puerto Rico.
