The latest character to be released for the upcoming Tekken 8 caused quite a splash among viewers and players alike. Victor Chevalier is a french character who is a secret agent and is voiced by film legend Vincent Cassel. His moves are reminiscent of Noctis in Tekken 7 and his reception has been decidedly mixed.
But one person that doesn't seem too impressed by him, is Tekken legend, Knee who explained that he doesn't feel like a Tekken character.
Knee said this in an interview with Arcade Press during Thaiger Uppercut where he talked about his excitement for Tekken 8.
Speaking on Tekken 7, Knee said that the current game has been around for quite a while and is a little boring now. So with Tekken 8 and its faster combat and great visuals, Knee is looking to create even more content and leave a lasting legacy.
Speaking specifically about Victor Chevalier, Knee explained that he found the character a little confusing. He clarified that Tekken games up till the 5th iteration were based on grounded martial arts which had proper representation in the real world. However, from Tekken 6 things began to change as we saw more and more supernatural elements. The same was true of Tekken 7 which also introduced some guest characters like Negan, Akuma, and Noctis. These characters used guns, weapons, or supernatural elements which was not the case in earliest Tekken games.
