Biography

OCP Crime Prevention Unit 001, or RoboCop. He is a cybernetically enhanced Detroit police officer from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. After being killed in action. Murphy is given a second life as a cyborg for the megacorporation OCP, Omni Consumer Products. The corporation took over the Detroit Police Department.

After his death, the OCP seizes control of his remains. Using what little there is left of Murphy after a shootout with crime boss Clarence Boddicker, they resemble him in what he is now, RoboCop.

RoboCop goes on to unmask a conspiracy from the head of the RoboCop Program, Dick Jones, that aimed to pitch law enforcement and the crime bosses of Detroit for profit. After learning of this he attempts to confront and arrest Jones. But due to his programming is unable to arrest any senior employee of the OCP. In a high stakes situation where the CEO of OCP, "Old Man", fires Jones after he is taken hostage by Jones after RoboCop once again confronts him in an executive meeting. RoboCop, now freed from "directive 4" which prevented him from harming Jones. Kills him, earning the trust of "Old Man".

A year later, the OCP attempted to create another RoboCop Unit. After many failed attempts and an attack on RoboCop that leaves him reconstructed but with mounting programmed directives that limit his abilities. An Old Detroit drug lord, Cain, who orchestrated the attack on Murphy, is believed to be fit for the program thanks to his unparalleled megalomania. As most other subjects had taken their own life after being transformed into new RoboCop units.

The OCP succeeded in making Cain a new Robocop, but Cain's addiction to a drug called Nuke eventually was his undoing. As Lewis, RoboCop's partner was able to bait him with a vial of the drug giving Murphy a widow to kill Cain.

Years later, the OCP financial situation became strenuous. A new plan was devised to relocate many of the residents of Cadillac Heights for gentrification. The plan eventually backfired. RoboCop was able to record Paul McDaggett, who was heading the relocation of residents and broadcasted the tape for all to hear. After the police moved away from the OCP to assist the resistance of Cadillac Height. A big confrontation with the OCP started which came to end after RoboCop came down into the scene powered by a jet pack.
