I think I'll start with this:)
Ryu is just... fine. It's like the definition of him, he's arguably the easiest to pick up and go practice. He's also very useful in getting a hang of what Street Fighter is and how it is played. With that being said, Ken can do the same but better, and I also like his overal demeanor more
This! Fine is the best way to describee Ryu. Like, you can pick anything he does, and bet that Ken or Akuma can do that better
I feel like can only be considered best if you think of him as central to Street Fighter story. But, I wouldn't call him the best in a good faith after SF2. Back then, he was very viable, and quite distinct because of the small details like that small interactions with Ken that stood out. But, at the bottom of it, he's just a plain shonen protag
