Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance helped me to bond with a co-worker

DA was the first MK game that I ever played. I was not really into fighting games, or games in general until my colleague got me into it. Two of us were a bit geekier than other coworkers, and we quickly bonded over our taste in anime and movies. After a while, she and I started hanging out more together, and that is when she introduced me to MK. I didn't really get it at first, was button mashing a lot and got my ass whooped pretty fast. She was very supportive, though, and made sure that I learned the basics.

It got better for me after I started to dig into the lore and found myself identifying with Sonya Blade. She was basically a video game Sarah Connor, who is one of my all-time favorite characters from an all-time favorite movie. I started maining her, and it was not so long before I was winning consistently.

It's been 16 years now, and I am doing a different job far from there, but I still remember those times with a smile

Oh, that's wholesome :3 Also, am I smelling the notes of heavy crush here or is it just me having a stroke?

@Lupus_dei, DA, in retrospect, is not that good of a game, not only Sonya in it, haha. It is hard to overcome the first impression and an infatuation, though, so it all is better in memories. I later came across MK9 in life, and it is my still my favorite. Really showed me that MK is better off in 2D. I'm playing 11 rn

I remember Sonya to be no good in DA, but I'm glad she worked out for you. Did you have a chance to play any other games in the series?
